Quorum mourns the loss of one of our greatest champions on June 15th. Daniel Boyer was an unwavering supporter of Quorum. He served a term on our Board of Directors and he was an engaged member of the Quorum Cornerstone. He was a trusted business leader in our community and we are very proud that he was the very first recipient of the Quorum Business of the Year award.

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: As the winner of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce’s 2009 Chamber of the Year Award, Quorum champions the business case for a fully inclusive community as a conduit for economic development and a leader in the continuum of change.
JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant
LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro
TYPE: Part Time/20 hours to start
DEADLINE: 1/22/10
PAY RATE: $11.50/hour to start
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct administrative support to Quorum’s Executive Director, Board of Directors and Sub-Committee Chair People. This includes payroll, new member matriculation and attrition, reporting and maintaining financial records and basic accounting, constituent service and communication via phone, email and written correspondence and basic event planning logistics.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee member matriculation and attrition process, including maintaining Quorum’s member directory and online databases, mailing lists, email lists and donor lists.
- Engage with constituents, corporate partners and community as a representative of Quorum at networking and special events.
- Enter payroll information for all Quorum staff: distribution, collection, and filing of payroll timecards and related records.
- Set up and prepare communications, minutes and reports for Finance Committee and Board of Directors
- Manage calendar and travel for the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Prepare expense reports. Manage organizational capacity calendar.
- Support researching grant opportunities and provide support for the completion of applications.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Drivers license and daily access to a car
- Working knowledge and competence in Microsoft office suite, Excel and QuickBooks, website content management systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skill and experience
- Excellent customer service skills and experience
- Basic sales skills, lead tracking
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment
- Willingness to take initiative
- Good problem solving skills
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree with a focus in GLBT studies, Communications, Business or Economics
- Experience in Community or Political organizing, advocacy or fundraising (can be as a volunteer)
- Business and/or Non-profit operational experience
