Mission
Women Against Military Madness (WAMM) is a nonviolent, feminist organization that works in solidarity with others to create a system of social equality, self-determination and justice through education, action and the empowerment of women. WAMM’s purpose is to dismantle systems of militarism, economic exploitation and global oppression. The organization is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with current membership of 1,000 and a staff of two full-time positions: Director and Office Manager. The office is located in Sabathani Community Center in Minneapolis.

Summary
In cooperation with the Board, the Director of WAMM manages and implements programs and activities which support the organizational mission. This includes promoting WAMM’s mission by networking with the peace and social justice community, fostering community outreach and representing WAMM to the general public. The director participates in shaping organizational vision and long-range and business planning. The director is responsible for management of staff, business processes, and financial resources.

Requirements
Demonstrated commitment to peace and justice issues either through a paid position or volunteer activities
Demonstrated ability to:

• work with and develop leadership within women’s initiatives/> organizations;
• work and build coalition with a variety of cultural and ethnic groups and peace and justice organizations;
• manage programs and projects;
• manage and develop staff and volunteers;
• provide fiscal management within a non-profit organization;
• manage fundraising activities and proposal generation;
• build organizational effectiveness through membership and leadership growth;
• communicate effectively (spoken, written, interpersonal);
• provide progressive political analysis.
