Mixed Kids are Gonna Have to Get By on Their Looks

Via Liz Burr, I see the NY Times Freakonomics blog has posted on some research that blog and book author Steven Levitt has done on “the plight of mixed-race children.”

*sigh*

I can’t say it any better than Twanna Hines, who read the whole damn study and explains at the Huffington Post what a bunch of bullshit it is with, like, statistics and reasoning and stuff. Brilliant. Preach!

The one “good” thing Steven Levitt concluded from his research was that mixed kids are good looking, which makes it terribly disappointing to read many of the comments on Twanna’s article focusing on and agreeing with that point.

Jeff Yang, writing for the Asian Pop column at the San Francisco Chronicle, talks about the study’s complete ignorance of kids of non-black-white heritage. (via @newdemographic)

So can we all agree the study’s bunk?
